Some silicon traders stop trading on year-end settlement

‍‍Some domestic silicon traders suspended trading on settlement at the end of the year, and this slowed transactions in Shanghai spot market today.

This morning, producers of 553# silicon firmed up offers as their in-plant stocks shrank. This grew traders' cautious sentiment.

Traders hesitated in purchasing as downstream orders remained sluggish, and as their cash flow problems occurred.

We assessments showed that 553# silicon traded at 11,700-11,800 CNY/MT in Shanghai today, up 150 CNY/MT from Monday December 24th; prices of 441# silicon also picked up 200 CNY/MT to 12,700-12,900 CNY/MT in Shanghai.
