Some silicon producers in Inner Mongolia plan to resume operation in early September. All plants have suspended from the end of April, for environment probes.
After probes ended in late June, just one plant recovered production as low silicon metal prices eroded production enthusiasm across plants.
More time is also required for plants in Inner Mongolia to resume production, as producers have to apply for discounts on electricity.
The silicon metal 553# non-oxygen refinery mostly traded at 11,600-11,700CNY/MT at Tianjin port on Wednesday August 22nd.
