Supplies of low-grade oxygen-refined silicon in north China were tight on Tuesday July 31st as some producers across the region worked to fulfill orders.
Several producers even stopped accepting new orders, as their backlog of orders grew.
Short supplies buoyed offers of low-grade oxygen-refined silicon metal at Tianjin port. Offers for the silicon metal 553# series grew to 12,300CNY/MT.
However, buyers said that they could not accept the high prices offered by producers and were unwilling to stockpile at the moment.
