Yunnan silicon producers’ operating rates slump in January

Operating rates at silicon producers in Yunnan province dropped to only 25% in January due to power shortages and high energy prices, silicon mills in Yunnan shows. This is down by 19 percentage points from levels seen in December 2017.
Only serval plants in the main producing areas including Dehong, Baoshan and Nujiang are still producing. These mills told us that they mainly produce Chemical-grade silicon.
