Enquiries pick up after holiday bolsters silicon offers

Prices of silicon are likely to stop their declines as greater enquiries from downstream consumers after the Labor Day holiday prompted some silicon producers in the south to hike offers on Monday May 6th.
As of May 6th, offers of non-oxidized 553# silicon at southern ports increased to 10,500 CNY/MT, from 10,300 CNY/MT pre-holiday. Trades also improved as downstream buyers returned.
Offers of other types of silicon products stood unchanged from levels before the holiday.
